You ask me what peace is.  You say in this war torn world the concept of peace is unknown to you.  So I shall give you my answer.  Peace is love; love of a mother, love of a partner, love of a friend.  Peace is understanding and forgiveness.  Peace is when you see a pack of wolves lying a few yards away from a resting herd of deer.  Peace is putting aside your differences and aknowledging we are all equal no matter religion, race, gender.  Peace is understanding that an ant is no less important than a child.  Peace is a child\'s indescriminating way of making friends.  Peace is the helping hand of a stranger and the helping hand to a stranger

He walks a dark tunnel alone step by step one foot in front of the other.  I stand on the outside wanting to help...wanting to make him see.  But how?  I notice he walks with his head looking back watching and reliving the past.  He lights up that which is behind him hoping to keep it from reoccuring.  He waits to be hurt once more.  I ache to turn his head around...to make him see the past has gone.  I want to say \"learn from it and move on\".  But I can\'t.  I ache to take his hand in mine...to show him he\'s not alone.  I wish to be by his side helping him to get stronger.  But what am I to do?  How do I help someone just out of reach?  I

I am a runaway slave.  Barely the day after my seventeenth season, slavers raided our village and captured nearly everyone in it.  A few lucky ones either escaped or were slaughtered. My parents were among those killed, while I was forced into slavery. Instead of selling me, the slavers' leader decided I would be a good pet.  I'd been crouched up against a tree scared nearly out of my when they'd found me.  So when they chained me and hauled me to the leader's horse I did not put up much of a fight.  I guess he must have figured I'd be easy to control since I was easily caught He was wrong.
